The Director General's Bodyguard Course was written by Method Lucien Ott and published in 1995 to provide an insight into the world of bodyguarding. The book contains eight parts that cover topics such as back to basics; protective escort; communications & ECS; improvised explosive devices (IEDs); protective driving; paramedicine; CQB without firearms and with firearms.

It also includes information on how to become a successful bodyguard including essential skills needed for this profession. Major Lucien Ott founded the International Bodyguard Association (IBA) which has been teaching its unique system since 1957. This book will give readers an understanding of what it takes to be a professional bodyguard.

In addition, readers will gain knowledge about historical developments related to modern day warfare that have had significant impact on traditional methods used for protecting VIPs from assassination attempts or acts of terror using IEDs or sniper rifles among others weapons.
